Brantley County Overview

Brantley County is rich in outdoor adventures, quality services, and small-town charm. Just west of Brunswick and the Golden Isles, Brantley County is minutes from the port at Brunswick and I-95.

Brantley County boasts more miles of the Satilla River than any other county the river runs through, affording ample opportunities for fishing, canoeing, and camping. Brantley County residents also enjoy horseback riding, hunting, bird watching, bicycle routes, the East Coast Off-Road Park (450 acres ofriding trails), and Twin Oaks Bluegrass Park, one of the largest campground and bluegrass conventions in the state.

Quaint and ample dining opportunities in the county capture true Southern cooking – from some of the best barbecue you'll ever taste, to fried chicken, steaks, seafood, even fried gator tail!

The community gathers together for celebrations, events and group cultural activities that are unique to Brantley County. The Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade and festival is held annually in Nahunta during December and the Exchange Club’s Taste of Brantley, a community-wide festival that spotlights local eats and crafts, are two events you don’t want to miss!  In addition, the East Coast Off-Road Park (www.ecc-orp.com) is a place where off roading adventurists come from all around to go ATV and Truck riding.

Explore the county’s heritage at the Confederate Memorial Wall and Museum in Waynesville, a semi-circular wall eight feet high and 50 feet long that commemorates Confederate soldiers (also the site of the UDC Confederate Monument). The Museum houses documents and items from the Confederacy.

The city of Hoboken boasts a talented group of musicians keeping alive the history of Shape Note singing, also known as Sacred Harp singing, a 200-year-old American style of hymn singing. The town hosts a Sacred Harp sing on the third Sunday in March, attracting thousands of singers and listeners alike.
